McLaren partners with Hedera for Web3 fan experiences across F1 and indyCar

McLaren Formula 1 and Arrow McLaren IndyCar cars featuring Hedera branding for blockchain fan engagement and digital collectibles program.

McLaren Racing has signed a multi-year partnership with the Hedera Foundation to roll out blockchain-based fan experiences across its racing platforms.

The agreement names Hedera an official partner of the McLaren Formula 1 and Arrow McLaren IndyCar teams.

The collaboration focuses on free digital collectibles and interactive programs built on Hedera’s public network.

Both organizations aim to connect live motorsport with scalable Web3 technology. However, the announcement triggered little immediate market response, with HBAR trading at $0.1091 at the time of writing, down by 0.62%.

Digital collectibles roll out across F1 and IndyCar

McLaren Racing confirmed that its first Hedera-powered initiative will debut during the Formula 1 season. The team plans to release free-to-claim digital collectibles during Formula 1 Grand Prix weekends.

These items will feature motorsport themes linked to specific races and team milestones. McLaren Racing said the program will allow fans to engage digitally while following on-track action.

Arrow McLaren IndyCar fans will also benefit from the partnership. The team’s digital collectibles program will return for the 2026 IndyCar season after earlier editions.

McLaren Racing explained that both programs aim to strengthen connections between physical race events and digital fan participation. The collectibles will include access to prizes, experiences, and engagement-based incentives.

McLaren Racing stated that future development will rely on fan feedback and engagement trends. The organization identified its Discord server as the main community hub for the programs.

The channel will support Web3-native users while remaining accessible to newcomers. Hedera’s network provides the technical backbone for these activations.

The platform offers fast transaction speeds, security controls, and compliance capabilities designed for large consumer audiences. McLaren Racing selected the infrastructure to ensure reliable performance for fans worldwide.

Branding expansion signals long-term commitment

The partnership includes visible branding across McLaren Racing assets. Hedera branding will appear on the McLaren Formula 1 car and driver race suits starting this season.

Arrow McLaren’s No. 6 and No. 7 Chevrolet entries will also carry the Hedera logo, alongside team apparel.

Nick Martin, co-chief commercial officer at McLaren Racing, said innovation away from the track remains essential. He stated that the partnership enables the team to deliver Web3-based experiences that match evolving fan expectations.

Martin added that Hedera’s arrival reflects McLaren’s broader commitment to technological progress.

Charles Adkins, CEO of HBAR, Inc., described the collaboration as an important milestone for the Hedera ecosystem. He said partnering with a globally recognized motorsport brand provides a platform to demonstrate practical Web3 use cases on trusted networks.

Adkins noted that the initiative focuses on experiences fans actively want and represents an initial phase.

The partnership aligns both organizations around performance, precision, and engineering excellence.

McLaren Racing brings decades of motorsport heritage, while Hedera contributes expertise in decentralized application development across multiple sectors.

Both sides indicated plans to expand the collaboration beyond digital collectibles as fan engagement grows.
